Annmarie Wilson, LPC-IT Seeking hours for licensure professional counselor

Welcome, My name is Annmarie Wilson

Thank you for visiting my site. I currently completed my masters in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Forensic at Walden University in February 2013. My current goal is to take the National Counseling Examination and complete my hours for License Professional Counselor.

I enjoy working with all ages which include children, adults and the elderly. My experience includes working as a teacher k-12 and working with veterans and their families.  I possess a winning personality and enjoy helping clients to become a better advocate for themselves. I believe that everyone has the answers to their issues which is within us and as a counselor "we" simply helps individuals to find their own path towards healing.

"Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes a difference: ~Virginia Satir

My passion for working with children and families has led me to pursue a master degree in Mental Health Counseling specializing in Forensic. My achievements include teaching K-12 students, serving as parent student advisory representative for Sembach Elementary School, Family Readiness Leader for 313th ROC in Germany, and President/Past President of the Omega Zeta Chapter at Walden University. I was a foster parent for two years and I tutor teens on Algebra. I also worked with “The Apostle’s House” that provides social services to the homeless and at risk- families in Newark, New Jersey for two years. As a lifelong learner, I have experience with both face-to-face and online instruction.  As the Past President of the Omega Zeta Chapter, I have collaborated with a team of officers to create the largest chapter dedicated to leadership and excellence in counseling.

Through volunteer experiences such as book-fair assistant, tutor, and one-on-one coach with Belle Chasse Academy, I have experienced the challenges and demands on military families in today’s society.  I have acquired skills in counseling and motivating families to adapt to life stressors.
